Measles Mumps Rubella (MMR)

Measles is a highly infectious viral illness with the potential for serious and life-threatening complications. Travel remains an important factor in the international spread of measles.

Mumps is a contagious viral infection, that causes swelling and inflammation of one or both of the parotid glands. Rubella, otherwise known as German measles is a rare illness spread through the air that causes a spotty rash to develop. The MMR vaccine offers immunity against all three of these diseases.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

The vaccinations you need depend on your destination, planned activities, and current health status. To determine the appropriate vaccinations, consult our travel health pharmacist or book a travel health consultation online.

Ideally, you should schedule your vaccinations 4-6 weeks before departure. This allows time for vaccines to take effect and for any potential side effects to subside.

Travel vaccinations are generally safe and well-tolerated. However, like any medication, some individuals may experience side effects. Our travel health pharmacist can discuss potential side effects and precautions with you.

If you have a medical condition or are taking medications, inform our travel health pharmacist during your consultation. They can help determine the appropriateness of specific vaccines and provide personalized recommendations.

To schedule an appointment, you can book a Travel Health Consultation or book for the specific vaccine you require. Either book online or call our pharmacy, or stop by in person. Our staff will be happy to assist you in arranging a convenient time for your consultation and vaccinations.
